Winters snow

Snowflakes drifted down during a freezing midwinters eve
They came down thick and fast sticking to everything in sight
By dawn’s first light, the snow had come to an end
Turning everything that was brown to a shimmering pearl
The babbling brook was frosted with ice
The water clinked and tinked as it bubbled over and around the rocks
The forest was beautiful exchanging it’s summer greens for its winter whites
